Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how AppAlchemy Labs LLC ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our software products, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Apps"). This Policy applies to all Apps we publish, including but not limited to our macOS streaming discovery application.
1) Scope
This Policy covers all Apps offered by AppAlchemy Labs LLC. Some features are device-only and operate entirely on your Mac without transmitting personal data to our servers.
Design disclaimer: The Apps may display common streaming platform names or icons (e.g., “Netflix”, “Max/HBO”, “Disney+”) strictly as illustrative design elements to explain features. Such uses do not imply partnership, endorsement, or technical integration with any third party.
2) Information We Collect
2.1 No account & minimal data
Our Apps do not require you to create an account with us. We do not sell personal data. We only collect information necessary to operate core features and to respond to your requests.
2.2 On-device data (local)
- Preferences & playlists: Selected catalogs, watchlists/playlist items, UI settings. Stored locally on your device.
- Search history (optional): If enabled, your recent searches may be kept locally for convenience. You can clear them in the App settings.
2.3 Communications
If you email us (e.g., for support), we receive your email address and any information you provide in the message. We use this solely to respond and for quality assurance.
2.4 Diagnostics
Crash reports or analytics only if you explicitly opt in via OS-level prompts (for example, Apple’s crash reporting). Such data helps us troubleshoot and improve stability.
3) How We Use Information
- Operate and improve the Apps and their features (e.g., search, playlists, menu bar quick access).
- Provide support and respond to inquiries you send to us.
- Maintain security and prevent misuse.
5) Data Retention
On-device data (e.g., preferences, playlists) remains on your device until you delete the App data or uninstall the App. Support communications are retained as needed to manage your request and maintain records.
6) Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7) Third-Party Services & Attribution
Streaming metadata: Some Apps obtain streaming availability metadata (e.g., where to watch, links, pricing, availability windows) from the third-party Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night. Their client libraries are MIT-licensed, but the API has additional Terms & Conditions that require attribution if the data is made public. We provide a visible attribution within the Apps and/or related pages. [oai_citation:1‡GitHub](https://github.com/movieofthenight/go-streaming-availability)
Attribution wording (example shown in-App/About): “Portions of metadata provided by Movie of the Night’s Streaming Availability API.”
Important: We do not host, cache, or redistribute third-party video streams. The Apps surface metadata and deep links only. Availability and accuracy of external content, images, and prices are subject to change by the respective providers.
8) Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children. If you believe a minor provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Apps after an update constitutes acceptance.
10) Contact
